It is the largest privately owned wine estate in South Africa and has everything you would expect of a typical Cape Winelands Estate. Laurent was recently modernised and one of the additions is a spacious veranda with fantastic views over the Hottentots-Holland mountains and False Bay.
The venue has plenty of ceremony options to offer. Outdoor settings include the Terrace overlooking the polo Field, the raised Polo deck on the side of the Polo field and then my favourite spot, right in the middle of the tree-lined lane leading up to the venue. The veranda that is partly covered by a glass roof can be utilised if you are looking for a more sheltered ceremony location. There are also a host of churches close-by should you want to opt for a more formal ceremony.
The main function venue with its neutral flooring, crystal chandeliers and predominantly white theme means this venue can easily be transformed to accommodate functions of a wide variety of styles and preferences. It can comfortably seat 250 guests with a dance floor.
Photo opportunities are plentiful – Lourensford is the proverbial “photographer’s dream”! The estate offers a fusion of historic Cape Dutch architecture and modern style buildings and the 4000 hectare Estate riddled with an array of fields, fruit tree orchards, vineyards, pine forests, gardens and dams. My favourite spot is next to the lake and pine forest. Right next to Lourensford lies Erinvale Golf Estate, Hotel & Spa – Not only can your wedding guests be accommodated nearby, but they also have the luxury Spa and Golf resort facilities at their doorstep. Apart from Erinvale, there are also plenty of guest houses in the vicinity that are suitable for bridal and groom preparations. Other facilities include the on-site caterer Stir Food and a coordination service by the Aleit Group.
