Q. How many years has RYW been planning events?

RYW’s founder Liesel has over nine years of professional experience in events management. She also holds a degree in International Hospitality and Event Management from the Oxford School of Hospitality, UK.

Q. Do I really need a wedding planner? (My friends and family will be helping me anyway…?)

Your sister, best friend and that really organised colleague from work have all offered to help? That’s fantastic! Your wedding is a big deal and there’ll be many, many important decisions to make that will be much easier with the support of your loved ones and confidantes. But, let’s put things into perspective too. Your wedding will be one of the most important days of your life – ever. It’ll be played over and over in your memories, and with each wedding anniversary that you celebrate together. Not to mention that it’ll be shared with all of the most important people in your life, many of whom will have travelled from across the world to be with you. You don’t want to leave things to chance. This is a job for a professional.

Planning the event of your lifetime really is a full time job too. And you’ve probably both got one of those already, right? Organising your wedding will be a satisfying, but equally time-consuming affair. And while you may be committed to putting the hours in to try to find THE best wedding dress, best venue, wedding cake maker, florist, photographer and DJ for the big day, it’s time to focus on just one thing – you - the bride and groom. Hiring a wedding planner will remove the stress and strains of trying to oversee everything and everyone, and will give you the head space you need to truly just wake up and smell the roses.

Q. What differentiates RYW from other event planners and designers?

Rock Your Wedding isn’t a big, faceless corporation focused on checklists. Our founder Liesel takes a personal investment in planning each wedding and takes time to get to know every client and their vision for their big day. Think of her as your new best friend – on speed dial – there when you need her.

At RYW our philosophy is that we don’t just plan weddings, we connect life’s moments to lasting memories. So whether it’s a hotel wedding, on the beach or even a desert wedding that you’ve always dreamed of (something most planners avoid), we’ll make it happen.

Q. I understand how having a wedding planner will help the bride-to- be, but what about the groom?

Grooms – did you think that we’d forgotten you? Of course we didn’t! We know that sometimes the groom’s needs can be overshadowed, but RYW can assure you that throughout the planning stages and on the big day, we’re here to support you both and to ensure that both your needs, concerns and requests are taken into consideration. Whether you need the contacts of a great tailor, the perfect playlist for the after-party or a sophisticated cocktail menu for guests, we’ll help make sure the big day has all the perfect touches/details that you’re looking for, at a budget that’s been agreed upon.

Q. What clients aren’t a good fit for RYW?

The relationship between a wedding planner and clients is a very close one, built on trust and a shared vision to create a truly memorable, meaningful and unique wedding. We like to begin with a first meeting to get to know each other and decide if we can work together. Then on signing the contract, we simply ask one thing, and that’s to let us do what we’re best at, while you sit back and relax. That means letting us take the reins, so that you can focus on enjoying the process and your wedding day.

Q. When is the right time to start planning our wedding?

There really is no ‘right time’ to start planning. While some of our clients have Pinterest boards made barely moments after the proposal, others have sought help much later once they have a vague idea of what they want. But while RYW can plan a wedding in two weeks, two months or two years, our advice is to remember that the more time we have to plan together, the better prepared your wedding will be. And it’s also a good idea to be able to spread your budget over a longer period to help with your cash flow.

Q. How much will RYW’s services cost?

We believe it’s important to think of the costs of planning your dream wedding as a sound investment. By working with us you’ll benefit from years of experience and insider knowledge to help get the best value from your suppliers and for your budget, whether it’s advising on seasonal flowers or which food and beverage packages will suit your needs. We offer a range of services to suit each budget, which can be viewed on our Services page.

Q. Does RYW accept payment in instalments?

Yes! In fact, payments are already split into four separate deposits to keep costs manageable throughout the planning process. On signing our contract we request an initial 50% deposit to be made. The final payment is due 30 days prior to the wedding, with the remaining two payments to be determined before then. RYW accept payment by cash or cheque and a preferred payment method will be discussed and defined during the contract process.
