Set in Yzerfontein on the West Coast, Strandkombuis is one of the closest beach venues to Cape Town, (less than a 60-minute drive from the city centre). It is one of only a few true rustic beach venues in the Western Cape and this might come as a surprise to you the fact being that South Africa has such an extensive coast line.
The outdoor, open-air beach ceremony is still my number one. Just think about it… barefoot on the beach; looking deep into the eyes of your life partner; saying your vows while being cooled down by the fresh sea breeze. I cannot think of a better way to get married.
The rustic reception venue, perched on top of a sand dune and overlooking the Atlantic – one of the best sunset spots in the whole of SA! Couple with that the fresh traditional West Coast seafood on the menu, wow… barbequed snoek and hake, mussels, freshly baked farm bread with butter, crayfish and calamari… Ooo, I cannot wait for my next wedding there!
The added bonus with Strandkombuis is that it offers ample accommodation for the main bridal party – up to 57 guests in total. This means no holding back with the celebrations… just the way it should be!
